Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, he said: Sa’id ibn Abi ‘Aruba narrated to us, from Ayyub, from ‘Ikrimah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: There was a black slave belonging to the Banu al-Mughirah who was called Mughith. It is as if I am looking at him in the streets of Medina, following her, while his tears were flowing onto his beard, pleading with her to choose him, but she did not choose him—meaning the husband of Barirah.
