Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:252

'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik, from 'Ata', regarding a man who said to his slave woman, "I have freed you and married you." He said: She is free. If she wishes, she may marry him, and if she wishes, she may not marry him.
