Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Habib, from ‘Amr, who said: Jabir ibn Zayd was asked about a slave who came to a people and informed them that he was a free man, so they married him to a free woman, then they learned after that that he was a slave who had deceived them. He said: If they learn of it, then if she wishes, she may remain with him, and if she wishes, she may separate from him, and he has no right over her.
