Hadith 9:43
Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Husayn, from Bakr, who said: They married without a guardian (wali) and without witnesses. So he wrote that he should be lashed one hundred times, and he wrote to the provinces: "Any woman who marries without a guardian, she is in the status of an adulteress."
حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن حصين عن بكر قال تزوجن بغير ولي ولا بينة فكتب أن يجلد مائة وكتب إلى الأمصار أيما امرأة تزوجت بغير ولي فهي بمنزلة الزانية
