Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:587

Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Rukayn, from his father, and Husayn, from Qabisah, from Abdullah, that he said: The impotent man is granted a respite of one year. If he has intercourse, [then it is well], and if not, they are separated.
