Hashim narrated to us, from Yahya bin Sa'id, from some of their elders, that Abu Halima Mu'adh al-Qari married the daughter of Haritha bin al-Nu'man al-Ansari, but he did not consummate the marriage with her. So, Umar granted him a respite of one year. Yahya said: Yahya bin Abd al-Rahman al-Ansari informed me that when the year had passed, he separated them and said, "Praise be to Allah who has spared Haritha his daughter."
