Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:600

Hushaym narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from al-Sha’bi, that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab used to say: He is granted a respite of one year; I do not know it to be [calculated] except from the day he is brought before the authority.
