Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from ‘Amr, from Isma’il al-Shaybani, that he swore an oath regarding the wife of Rafi’ ibn Khadij. She informed him that he used to practice *‘azl* (coitus interruptus), or he would practice *‘azl* due to sores she had, so that she would not have to perform *ghusl* (ritual bathing).
