Waki’ narrated to us, from al-Dahhak ibn ‘Uthman, from Salim Abu al-Nadr, from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Aflah, who said: I married the *umm walad* (mother of a child) of Abu Ayyub, and she informed me that Abu Ayyub used to practice *‘azl* (coitus interruptus). And the *umm walad* of Zayd ibn Thabit informed me that he used to practice *‘azl* with her. And Salim said, from ‘A’isha bint Sa’d, that Sa’d used to practice *‘azl* with his *ummahat al-awlad* (mothers of his children).
