Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:686

Hafs narrated to us, from Ja'far, from his father, that Ali ibn al-Husayn used to practice *azl* (coitus interruptus). He would interpret this verse: "And when your Lord took from the children of Adam, from their loins, their descendants."
