Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 9:847

Waki’ narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn al-Mubarak, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Taymi, that ‘Utbah ibn Abi Sufyan had four wives with him. He divorced one of them, [and he wanted to marry another] during the waiting period of the one he had divorced. He asked Marwan ibn al-Hakam, so he said: "No, not until the waiting period of the one you divorced has ended."
