Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham narrated to us, from 'Ammar ibn Ruzayq, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And there is no blame upon you for that to which you allude concerning a proposal to women," he said: He says, "I am indeed desirous of you, and I wish that I could marry you," until he makes her know that he wants to marry her, without making a contract binding or making a covenant with her upon a covenant.
