Narrated to us by Ibn Abi Layla, from Nafi’, from Safiyyah bint Abi ‘Ubayd, she said: A man married a woman, then he committed adultery with another before he had consummated the marriage with his wife. Abu Bakr flogged him one hundred [lashes] and banished him for a year.
