Hadith 14:117

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade incantations (ruqyah). The family of 'Amr ibn Hazm had an incantation which they used to perform for the scorpion sting. They came to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and presented it to him, and they said: "You have forbidden incantations." He said: "Whoever among you is able to benefit his brother, let him do so."
