Hadith 14:15
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad al-Muharibi narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, who said: It was said to al-Rabi ibn Khuthaym during his illness, "Shall we not call a physician for you?" He said, "Wait for me." Then he reflected and said: "And 'Ad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them. And for each We presented examples, and each We destroyed with [total] destruction." (Quran 25:38-39). He mentioned their eagerness for the world and their desire for it. He said: "There were sick people among them, and there were physicians among them. So neither the one who was treated remained, nor the one who treated. The describer and the one described for have perished. By Allah, do not call a physician for me."
