Hadith 14:174
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Ja'far ibn Iyas, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Sa'id, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent us out as thirty riders in a military expedition. He said: We descended upon a people and asked them for hospitality, but they did not host us. He said: Then their leader was stung. He said: They came to us and said, "Is there anyone among you who performs ruqyah (incantation) for the scorpion sting?" I said: "Yes, I am, but I will not perform ruqyah for him until you give us sheep." He said: They said, "We will give you thirty sheep." He said: So we accepted. He said: I recited the Fatiha over him seven times. He said: He recovered, and we took possession of the sheep. Then something occurred in our minds regarding them, so we said: "Do not be hasty until you come to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him." He said: When we arrived to him, I mentioned to him what I had done. He said: "Did you not know that it is a ruqyah? Divide the sheep and set aside a share for me with you."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن جعفر بن إياس عن أبي نضرة عن أبي سعيد قال بعثنا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ثلاثين راكبا في سرية قال فنزلنا بقوم فسألناهم القرى فلم يقرونا قال فلدغ سيدهم قال فأتونا فقالوا أفيكم أحد يرقي من العقرب قال قلت نعم أنا ولكن لا أرقيه حتى تعطونا غنما قال فقالوا إنا نعطيكم ثلاثين شاة قال فقبلنا قال فقرأت عليه الفاتحة سبع مرات قال فبرأ وقبضت الغنم فعرض في أنفسنا منها شيء فقلنا لاتعجلوا حتى تأتوا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال فلما قدمنا عليه قال فذكرت له الذي صنعت قال أو ما علمت أنها رقية اقسموا الغنم واضربوا لي معكم بسهم
