Hadith 14:175
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahim narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, who said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "I performed ruqyah (incantation) for so-and-so, and he was afflicted with madness, and I was given a herd of sheep, and I only performed ruqyah for him with the Quran." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever takes [payment] for a false ruqyah, then he has taken [payment] for a true ruqyah."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عبد الرحيم عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس بن أبي حازم قال أتى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم رجل فقال إني رقيت فلانا وكان به جنون فأعطيت قطيعا من غنم وإنما رقيته بالقرآن فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من أخذ برقية باطل فقد أخذت برقية حق
