Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahim narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Abdullah ibn Abi Najih, from Abdullah ibn Thabit, the freed slave of Jubayr ibn Mut'im, who said: Asma bint Umays said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, the evil eye affects the children of Ja'far quickly, so should I seek ruqyah (incantation) for them?" He said, "Yes, for if there were anything that could precede the decree, the evil eye would precede it."
