Hadith 14:186
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Zakariya, from Mus’ab ibn Shaybah, from Yahya ibn Ja’dah, he said: Khalid ibn al-Walid used to be terrified at night until he would go out with his sword. It was feared that he might strike someone, so he complained about that to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He said: "Indeed, Gabriel said to me: 'An Ifrit from the jinn is plotting against you, so say: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah, which neither the righteous nor the wicked can surpass, from the evil of what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein, and from the evil of what He has spread in the earth and what emerges from it, and from the evil of the trials of the night and the day, and from the evil of every visitor, except a visitor who knocks with good, O Most Merciful.'"
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن نمير عن زكريا عن مصعب بن شيبة عن يحيى بن جعدة قال كان خالد بن الوليد يفزع من الليل حتى يخرج ومعه سيفه فخشي عليه أن يصيب أحدا فشكا ذلك إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال إن جبريل قال لي إن عفريتا من الجن يكيدك فقل أعوذ بكلمات الله التامة التي لا يجاوزها بر ولا فاجر من شر ما ينزل من السماء وما يعرج فيها ومن شر ما بث في الأرض وما يخرج منها ومن شر فتن الليل والنهار ومن شر كل طارق إلا طارقا يطرق بخير يا رحمن
