Hadith 14:22
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja'far, from Zur'ah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from a freed slave of Mu'ammar al-Taymi, from Asma bint Umays, she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "With what do you use as a laxative?" I said: "With spurge (shubrum)." He said: "Hot, harsh." Then I used senna as a laxative, and he said: "If there were anything that could cure death, it would be senna, and senna is a cure for death."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبد الحميد بن جعفر عن زرعة بن عبد الرحمن عن مولى لمعمر التيمي عن أسماء بنت عميس قالت قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بماذا كنت تستمشين قلت بالشبرم قال حار جار ثم استمشيت بالسنا فقال لو كان شيء يشفي من الموت كان السنا والسنا شفاء من الموت
