Hadith 14:226
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from al-Mas’udi, from Sahl ibn al-Asad, from Abdullah ibn Utbah, who said: A man from our tribe came to Abdullah with a young boy of theirs whose uvula had fallen. They wanted to cut it off. Ibn Mas’ud said: "Do not cut it off. But if there is a delay in his appointed time (of death), he will recover; otherwise, you will not have cut it off."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن المسعودي عن سهل بن الأسد عن عبد الله بن عتبة قال جاء طبي لنا إلى عبد الله بصبي لهم قد سقطت لهاته فأرادوا أن يقطعوها فقال بن مسعود لا تقطعوها ولكن إن كان في أجله تأخير برأ وإلا لم تكونوا قطعتموها
