Hadith 14:24
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon Umm Salamah, and with her was a young boy whose nostrils were dripping blood. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What is the matter with this one?" They said: "He has *al-'udrah* (tonsillitis/throat inflammation)." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Why do you afflict your children? It is sufficient for one of you to take Indian incense (*qist al-hindi*), scrape it with water seven times, and then administer it to him as a drink." He said: So they did that, and he recovered.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن أبي سفيان عن جابر قال دخل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على أم سلمة وعندها صبي يندر منخراه دما فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ما لهذا قالوا به العذرة فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على ما تعذبن أولادكن إنما يكفي إحداكن أن تأخذ قسطا هنديا فتحكه بماء سبع مرات ثم توجره إياه قال ففعلوه فبرأ
