Hadith 14:269
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, from Zuhayr, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, he said: Husayn ibn Abi al-Hurr narrated to me, from Samurah ibn Jundab, he said: I was with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he called for a cupper, and he ordered him to cup him. He brought out cupping vessels made of horns and applied them to him, and he incised him with the edge of a blade, and the blood flowed while I was with him. Then a man from Banu Fazarah entered upon him and said: "What is this, O Messenger of Allah? How do you allow this to cut your skin?" He said: So I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: "This is *al-hajm* (cupping)." He said: "And what is *al-hajm*?" He said: "The best of what people use for medical treatment."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا أبو نعيم عن زهير عن عبد الملك بن عمير قال حدثني حصين بن أبي الحر عن سمرة بن جندب قال كنت عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فدعا حجاما فأمره أن يحجمه فأخرج محاجما من قرون فألزمها إياه وشرطه بطرف شفرة فصب الدم وأنا عنده فدخل عليه رجل من بني فزارة فقال ما هذا يا رسول الله على ما تمكن هذا من جلدك يقطعه قال فسمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول هذا الحجم قال وما الحجم قال خير ما تداوى به الناس
