Hadith 36:163

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: My father and Isra’il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu ‘Ubaydah, who said: ‘Abdullah said: I reached Abu Jahl on the day of Badr, and his leg had been struck, and he was prostrate, and he was defending people away from him with his sword. I said: "Praise be to Allah who has disgraced you, O enemy of Allah!" He said: "Is it anything but a man whom his people have killed?" He said: So I began to strike him with a sword of mine that was of no use, and I hit his hand, so his sword fell, and I took it and struck him with it until he grew cold [died]. Then I went out until I came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, as if I were barely touching the ground—meaning because of the speed—and I informed him. He said: "By Allah, besides whom there is no god!" And he repeated it to me three times. Then he went out walking with me until he stood over him and said: "Praise be to Allah who has disgraced you, O enemy of Allah! This was the Pharaoh of this nation." Waki’ said: My father added in it, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu ‘Ubaydah, who said: ‘Abdullah said: So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, gave me his sword as a prize [nafal].
