Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 36:191

'Abd al-Rahim ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Mu'adh ibn Rifa'ah ibn Rafi' al-Ansari, that an angel came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "How are the people of Badr among you?" He said: "The best of people." The angel said: "And likewise are those who witnessed Badr among the angels."
