Abu Usama narrated to us, he said: Hisham ibn Urwah narrated to us, from his father, from Aisha, who said: When the day of Uhud came, the polytheists were defeated, and Iblis shouted: "O servants of Allah, your rear!" She said: So their front returned and fought their rear. She said: Hudhayfah looked, and behold, it was his father, al-Yaman. He said: "O servants of Allah, my father, my father!" She said: By Allah, they did not refrain until they killed him. Hudhayfah said: "May Allah forgive you." Urwah said: By Allah, a remnant of goodness did not cease to be in Hudhayfah until he met Allah.
