Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Aswad, from Qays, from Nabih, from Jabir, who said: My father, Abdullah, said to me: "O my son, were it not for young daughters I am leaving behind after me—sisters and daughters—I would have loved for you to be ahead of me. But stay among those who look after the people of Medina." He said: I did not wait long before my paternal aunt brought them both, killed—meaning his father and his uncle—having laid them across a camel.
