Ali bin Hashim narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from al-Hakam, from Miqsam, from Ibn Abbas, who said: A man from the polytheists was killed on the day of Uhud. The polytheists wanted to pay blood money for him, but he (the Prophet or the victim's kin) refused. They continued to offer him until it reached the amount of blood money, but he refused.
