Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Humayd ibn Hilal, from Sa’d ibn Hisham ibn ‘Amir, from his father, who said: The severity of the wounds on the day of Uhud was complained of to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He said: "Dig, widen, and bury two or three in one grave, and put forward the one among them who has the most Quran." So they put my father forward in front of two men.
