Hadith 36:269

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn ‘Amr informed us, from his father, from his grandfather, from ‘Aishah, who said: We arrived from Hajj or ‘Umrah and were met at Dhu al-Hulayfah. The young boys of the Ansar used to meet their families, and they met Usayd ibn Hudayr and informed him of the death of his wife. He covered his head and began to weep. I said: "May Allah forgive you! You are a companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and you have the precedence and status that you have, yet you weep over a woman?" She said: He uncovered his head and said: "You have spoken the truth. By my life, it is fitting that I should not weep for anyone after Sa’d ibn Mu’adh, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him what he said." I asked: "And what did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say to him?" He said: "The Throne shook at the death of Sa’d ibn Mu’adh." She said: He was walking between me and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
