Hadith 36:274
Abu Usama narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) lined up against the polytheists on the day of the Trench. He said: It was a severe day, the likes of which the Muslims had never encountered. He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was sitting, and Abu Bakr was sitting with him. That was the time of the date palm blossoms. He said: They used to rejoice greatly when they saw it, because their livelihood was in it. He said: Abu Bakr raised his head and caught sight of a blossom, and it was the first blossom that was seen. He said, gesturing with his hand: "A blossom, O Messenger of Allah," out of joy. He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) looked at him, smiled, and said: "O Allah, do not take away from us the good that You have given us," or "a good that You have given us."
