Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 36:33

Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Mundhir, from Ibn al-Hanafiyyah regarding His saying: "But they will surely carry their burdens, and [other] burdens along with their burdens." He said: Abu Jahl and the chieftains of Quraysh used to meet the people when they came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to accept Islam. They would say: "He forbids wine, he forbids adultery, and he forbids what the Arabs used to do, so go back, for we will carry your burdens." Then this verse was revealed: "But they will surely carry their burdens, and [other] burdens along with their burdens."
