Hadith 36:371
Shababa ibn Sawwar narrated to us, he said: Al-Mughira ibn Muslim narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: We entered Mecca with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and in the House and around the House were three hundred and sixty idols being worshipped besides Allah. He said: So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded them, and they were all cast down upon their faces. Then he said: "The truth has come and falsehood has vanished; indeed, falsehood is ever bound to vanish." Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered the House and prayed two rak'ahs in it. He saw in it the statues of Ibrahim, Isma'il, and Ishaq, and they had placed arrows in the hand of Ibrahim with which he would seek omens. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "May Allah fight them! Ibrahim never sought omens with arrows." Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, called for saffron and smeared those statues with it.
