Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 36:373

Shababa bin Sawwar narrated to us, he said: Nu'aym bin Hakim narrated to us, he said: Abu Maryam narrated to me, from Ali, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out with me until he brought me to the Kaaba. He said: "Sit," so I sat beside the Kaaba. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) climbed onto my shoulders, then said to me: "Rise with me." So I rose with him, but when he saw my weakness beneath him, he said: "Sit," so I sat. He descended from me and sat for me, then said: "O Ali, climb onto my shoulders." So I climbed onto his shoulders, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) rose with me. When he rose with me, it seemed to me that if I had wished, I could have reached the horizon of the sky. I climbed onto the Kaaba, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stepped aside. He said to me: "Throw down their idol," referring to the greatest idol of Quraysh. It was made of copper and was fastened with iron stakes into the ground. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "Work at it." I began to work at it, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was saying: "Go on." I did not cease working at it until I had gained control over it. He said: "Throw it," so I threw it, and then I descended.
