Hadith 36:385

Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, he said: Musa ibn Ubaydah informed us, from Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Ibn Amr, from his brother Abdullah ibn Ubaydah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered Makkah when he entered it, and he was wearing a black striped cloak (burd) as a turban. He performed Tawaf upon his she-camel, Al-Qaswa, with a curved staff (mihjan) in his hand, with which he touched the corners. Ibn Umar said: We did not find a place for her to kneel in the mosque until she was lowered by the hands of men. Then he went out with her until she was made to kneel in the valley. Then he addressed the people while standing on his feet. He praised Allah and extolled Him as He is worthy, then he said: "O people, Allah has removed from you the arrogance of the Jahiliyyah and its boasting of forefathers. People are two types: a righteous, God-fearing person who is noble before Allah, and a wicked, wretched person who is insignificant before Allah. O people, Allah says: 'O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.' I say this, and I seek forgiveness from Allah for myself and for you." He said: Then he turned to the side of the mosque, and a bucket of Zamzam water was brought to him. He washed his face with it, and not a single drop fell from it except into the hand of a person; if it was enough to sip, they sipped it, and if not, they wiped [their bodies] with it. The polytheists were watching, and they said: "We have never seen a king greater than today, nor a people more foolish than today." Then he ordered Bilal, so he climbed onto the back of the Kaaba and called the Adhan for prayer. The Muslims stood up, stripped off their lower garments (izars), took buckets, and chanted verses (rajaz) over Zamzam, washing the Kaaba, its exterior and its interior. They did not leave a trace of the polytheists except that they erased it or washed it away.
