Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 36:389

Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, from Ibn Idris, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from al-Zuhri, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abd Allah ibn Utbah, from Ibn Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), in the year of the Conquest, when al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib brought Abu Sufyan to him, and he accepted Islam at Marr al-Zahran, al-Abbas said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Sufyan is a man who loves this pride, so if you were to assign something to him." He said: "Yes, whoever enters the house of Abu Sufyan is safe, and whoever closes his door is safe."
