Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 36:39

Affan narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Asim, from Zirr, from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was brought the Buraq, and it is a white, long beast that places its hoof at the limit of its sight. He said: Its back did not depart from him and Jibril until they came to Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), and the gates of the heaven were opened for them, and they saw Paradise and the Fire. He said: Hudhayfah said, "And he did not pray in Bayt al-Maqdis." Zirr said: I said, "Rather, he did pray." Hudhayfah said, "What is your name, O bald one? For I recognize your face, but I do not know your name." He said: I said, "Zirr ibn Hubaysh." He said: He then said, "And what makes you know? And do you find that he prayed?" He said: I said, "Allah says: 'Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.'" He said: "And do you find that he prayed? If he had prayed in it, we would have prayed in it, just as we pray in al-Masjid al-Haram." And it was said to Hudhayfah, "And he tied the beast with which the prophets tie [their mounts]." Hudhayfah said, "Was he afraid that it would go away, when Allah had brought it to him?"
