'Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, from his father, from 'A'ishah, who said: When the death of Ja'far arrived, we recognized sadness on the face of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). She said: A man entered upon him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, the women are weeping." He said: "Go back to them and silence them. If they refuse, then throw dust in their faces." She said: 'A'ishah said: I said to myself, "By Allah, you have neither left them alone, nor are you obeying the Messenger of Allah."
