Hadith 36:462
Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, he said: Musa ibn Ubaydah informed us, from Abdullah ibn Ubaydah, that Abu Sufyan, Hakim ibn Hizam, and Safwan ibn Umayyah went out on the day of Hunayn to see who the defeat would be upon. A Bedouin passed by them, and they said: "O servant of Allah, what have the people done?" He said: "Muhammad will face it forever." He said: "And likewise when his companions dispersed from him." Some of them said to others: "A lord from Quraysh is more beloved to us than the lord of the Bedouins. O so-and-so, go and bring us the news for a companion of theirs." He said: So he went until he was among the people, and he heard them saying: "O for the Aws! O for the Khazraj!" حدثنا عبيد الله بن موسى قال أخبرنا موسى بن عبيدة عن عبد الله بن عبيدة أن أبا سفيان وحكيم بن حزام وصفوان بن أمية خرجوا يوم حنين ينظرون على من تكون الدبرة فمر بهم أعرابي فقالوا يا عبد الله ما فعل الناس قال يستقبلها محمد أبدا قال وكذلك حين تفرق عنه أصحابه فقال بعضهم لبعض لرب من قريش أحب إلينا من رب الأعراب يا فلان اذهب فأتنا بالخبر لصاحب لهم قال فذهب حتى كان بين ظهراني القوم فسمعهم يقولون يا للأوس يا للخزرج وقد علوا القوم وكان شعار النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
