Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Aruba informed us, from Musa, from al-Hasan, that 'Uthman brought gold coins (dinars) to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) during the expedition of Tabuk. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) began turning them over in his lap and saying, "Nothing will harm 'Uthman ibn 'Affan after what he has done today."
