Hadith 36:568
'Abd al-Rahim narrated to us, from Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amr al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) appointed a meeting with us at the base of al-'Aqabah on the day of al-Adha, and we were seventy men. 'Uqbah said: I was among the youngest of them. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to us and said: "Be brief in the speech, for I fear for you the disbelievers of Quraysh." He said: We said, "O Messenger of Allah, ask for us for your Lord, and ask for us for yourself, and ask for us for your companions, and inform us what is the reward from Allah and from you." He said: "I ask you for my Lord that you believe in Him and do not associate anything with Him. And I ask you for myself that you obey me, so that I may guide you to the path of righteousness. And I ask you for myself and my companions that you support us with what you possess, and that you protect us from what you protect yourselves from. If you do that, then you have Paradise from Allah and from me." He said: So we stretched out our hands and pledged allegiance to him.
