Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:1023

Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, who said: There is no harm in horse racing if there is a "muhallil" horse among them. If it wins, it takes the prize, and if it does not win, there is nothing upon it.
