Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:105

Waki’ narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Ashhab narrated to us, from al-Hasan, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) fought the people of this peninsula of the Arabs for Islam; he would not accept anything from them other than it, and it was the best of Jihad. And after it, there was another Jihad against this group among the People of the Scripture: "Fight those who do not believe in Allah nor in the Last Day" until the end of the verse. Al-Hasan said: Anything other than these two is an innovation and misguidance.
