Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:255

Hafs narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from al-Hakam, who said: The people of knowledge used to say: If the belligerent (muharib) repents, he shall not be held accountable for anything he committed during the state of his belligerence, unless it was something he committed before that.
