Waki' narrated to us, he said: Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid narrated to us, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, who said: 'Umar fixed a stipend for the people of Badr, their strangers and their freed slaves, at five thousand [dirhams] each. And he said: "I will surely prefer them over those who are other than them."
