Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:352

'Affan narrated to us, he said: Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us, from 'Ali bin Zayd, from Anas bin Malik and Sa'id bin al-Musayyib, that 'Umar bin al-Khattab set the stipend for the Muhajirun at five thousand, and for the Ansar at four thousand, and for those who did not witness Badr among the children of the Muhajirun at four thousand. Among them were Usamah bin Zayd, Muhammad bin 'Abdullah bin Jahsh, 'Umar bin Abi Salamah, and 'Abdullah bin 'Umar. 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf said, "Indeed, 'Abdullah is not like these; 'Abdullah is of his status, of his status." 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said to 'Umar, "If it is my right, then give it to me, and if not, then do not give it to me." 'Umar said to 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf, "Then write me down for four thousand and 'Abdullah for five thousand. By Allah, you and I shall not be equal at five thousand." 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said, "If it is a right, then give it to me, and if not, then do not give it to me."
