Hadith 28:369
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, he said: Musa ibn Ubaydah narrated to me, he said: Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn al-Harith al-Taymi—and his grandfather was among the Emigrants (Muhajirun)—narrated to me, from Abu Hurayrah, that he went as a delegate to the governor of Bahrain. He said: So he sent with me eight hundred thousand dirhams to Umar ibn al-Khattab. I arrived to him, and he said: "What have you brought us, O Abu Hurayrah?" I said: "Eight hundred thousand dirhams." He said: "Do you know what you are saying? You are a Bedouin." He said: So I counted them out for him with my hand until I completed them. He said: So he called the Emigrants and consulted them regarding the wealth, and they differed with him. He said: "Leave me." Then, when it was midday, he sent for them and said: "I met a man from my companions and consulted him, and his opinion did not differ from it. He said: 'Whatever Allah has restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns is for Allah, and for the Messenger, and for the near relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer.'" So Umar distributed it according to the Book of Allah.
