Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:49

Waki' narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn Nafi' narrated to us, from his father, from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade the castration of horses and livestock. And Ibn Umar said: "In it is the growth of the creation."
