Ali ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Abu Hayyan, from his father, from al-Harith ibn Suwayd, from Abdullah, who said: "There is no speech that I speak in the presence of a ruler by which I ward off from myself [the equivalent of] between one lash to two lashes, except that I would speak it."
