Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 28:559

Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Shibr ibn Alqama, who said: I engaged in single combat with a man from the Persians on the day of al-Qadisiyyah, and I killed him and took his spoils. I brought them to Sa'd, and Sa'd addressed his companions, then said: "These spoils of Shibr are indeed better than twelve thousand dirhams, and we have granted them to him as a reward."
